Do I have to have an appointment to audition?

Yes. It helps the stage manager know how many scripts to have prepared and enables the director to gauge the best use of time.

If I am cast what is the rehearsal schedule like?

Most directors rehearse five days a week for a six week period. The actual dates and times are determined by the schedules of those who audition. For the first 4 weeks a rehearsal schedule usually includes up to 4 weeknights and one weekend afternoon. The last two weeks before opening usually rehearse 4 weekday evenings and both weekend afternoons. A tentative rehearsal schedule is provided for you at auditions. Not every character will be called for every rehearsal, though central characters attend almost every rehearsal. Most actors will be called at least three days a week from December 7, 2009 through January 23, 2010. All actors are called to every rehearsal from January 24th on. A tentative rehearsal schedule is provided in your audition packet

What dates are rehearsals?

December 7 through 19 (with a pause for winter break) and then January 4th through February 7, 2010

Technical rehearsals are February 8 through 13 and all company members must be present.  NO absences are permitted.

What time of day are rehearsals?

Weekday rehearsals will work in no more than a 3 hour block somewhere between 6:00 and 10:00 PM. Saturday or Sunday rehearsals will be in 4-6 hour blocks. Rehearsal times are determined after casting depending on availability.

What if I have conflicts with the rehearsal schedule? Scouting, piano, out of town weddings and the like?

A tentative rehearsal calendar is provided in your audition packet so that you can list all activities that conflict with the rehearsal schedule, especially those which cannot be moved or missed.  Director’s do their best to honor scheduling conflicts IF THEY ARE LISTED on the tentative rehearsal calendar in your packet. It is very difficult to adjust for conflicts after the rehearsal schedule is set. Remember directors juggle the schedules of up to 30 people. There may be occasions where you have to skip or reschedule something.
