A friend of Iris & sister to Elmer;
always struggling with her brother,
and looks for Iris to settle conflicts
and to help find things.
Mozart -
(9-13 yrs old)
a young Mozart searching for the
perfect end to a musical piece,
discovers Iris as she escapes form
Great Island.
Annabel Lee
- (13 and up)
a young woman searching for her ship
and captain, also meets Iris as she escapes.
They become close friends
helping one another on their journeys.

Queen of Great Island, wants to have
ONE of the best of everything.

Mother / Miss Overlook -

Mother of Iris, becomes Miss Overlook
on Great Island, and is the Wind Maker in Nocturno.

Father to Iris, mister Matternot on
Great Island and is the Sun Raiser and Lassoes the Moon.
Thunder Bottlers
(up to 4 flexible in age)-
Preparing for “a forty bottle order of
thunder”, they capture the noise of thunder vocally
to help create the “Storm”.
Leaf Monitor
– (14 and up)
Hazel and Elmer’s mom. Busy deciding
which leaves are “old” and which are the “new”.
Memory Mender
– (14 and up)
Cranky old man, adamant about his
work.
He has the job of ensuring that all
PAST coats are kept in tack.
Rain Maker
– (flexible in age)
guides in the clouds so they can fill
with rain water.
Mister OtherGuy
– (flexible in age)
is the servant for Grotto Good. He
works with Matternot and wears a tool belt
so he can hurriedly make any repairs
that the Goods may require.
Ray
- (flexible in age)
lives with Captain Also in the
“Tunnel”. He longs to be wanted.
Captain Also
- (flexible in age)
lives with Ray in the “Tunnel” she/he
is labeled as number 2, never the best.
Flower Painter-
(flexible in age)
turns large gray flowers into bright
beautiful flowers.
Elmer
– (9-13 yrs old)
is a friend to Iris, sister to Hazel
and son to the Leaf Monitor. He loves to create mischief like
taking the spots form the Lady Bugs and wants to add instead
stripes from a zebra.
Third String
– (flexible in age)
lives in the “Tunnel” with Captain
Also and Ray. He is covered in third place ribbons.
Bolt Bender
– (flexible in age)
always searching for the right shape
to his/her lightening bolts.
He works along side the Thunder
Bottlers and the Rain Maker.
Mister HimToo
- (flexible in age)
works as a servant to the Goods and
takes his job very seriously.

extras used in the show to help create
the different worlds that will appear within the play.
