It’s all in the story!
It’s all in the story!
You know the story...
You fell in love with Wilbur, the “terrific” pig, explored an old boxcar with the Alden siblings, and curled up for a good night’s sleep with the little bunny and his loose tooth. The characters have become your best friends. You live in their worlds and walk in their shoes. You understand the excitement that comes from holding an unread book, full of promising adventure, unexplored places and new friends.
Now it’s time to experience these stories coming to life through a new set of eyes—through the eyes of your children, your grandchildren, your nieces and nephews, your little brothers and sisters or even your own. Help us make these treasured tales a part of a new generation’s story.
You live your story...
Everyone has a story. Every time you see a play, read a book, or have a conversation, it becomes a part of you. You are the central character of your life. Every day you shape your story and the stories of those around you.
Now we invite you to join our story...
Lexington Children’s Theatre creates imaginative and compelling theatre experiences for young people and families, regardless of geographic or economic barriers. LCT strives to breathe a little magic into each production. We aim to give each show that special, LCT twist that leaves each and every audience member walking away with a unique experience. LCT is proud of its story, but it would be incomplete without you. Join us as we take your favorite characters from the page to the stage in our 73rd season.

Once upon a midnight dreary, in a show so dark and eerie,
Filled with many mad tales of gothic lore,
While I sat there, nearly gasping, suddenly there came a grasping
As of some one strongly grabbing, grabbing at my arm once more.
“Tis just a play,” I whispered, to the person shaking to their core.
“Only this and nothing more.”

Besides, if he ever grows bored he can pass the time with his favorite whittling knife. But what happens when Jake and Shoestring stumble across a trunk full of calico skirts—calico skirts with many magical and unexpected uses? Who woulda thunk that a couple skirts are all it takes to melt this old man’s heart?

If you ask his classmates about Bradley Chalkers they would tell you he’s a monster. If you mention him to his teachers, they would say he’s a student with serious behavior problems. But if you ask Carla, the new guidance counselor at Red Hill School, she would tell you the truth. Bradley is a fifth grader with no self-esteem, no one to talk to and his bullying is merely a cry for help. With her unconventional methods, Carla attempts to crack open this monster and in the process discovers a heart of gold.

Could this trip get any more boring? No way! At least that’s what Jane thinks until...Wait, who is Sacagawea? She was Lewis and Clark’s Native American guide? She spoke how many languages? It’s tough work falling asleep when you have a loose tooth, a thirsty throat, a lonely bed, a cuckooing clock, a squeaking balloon, a noisy mouse friend, a room full of musical bears, a ringing telephone, an overgrown tooth fairy, a lumpy pillow, and a cow that dreams of jumping over the moon all bothering you! Will Bunny….yawwwn….ever get…yawwn…to sleep? Or is his imagination simply unstoppable?
