Main Stage Student Opportunities

Every once in a while a show comes along with characters that are best portrayed by youth actors rather than adult actors portraying children. That's when we invite students to perform beside LCT's professional actors. In the 2006-07 season two students were double cast as Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol while in 2007-08 there were four students involved in A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas. During the 08-09 season there is one role for a student ... to play Jonas' little sister Lily in The Giver.

We look for students available to rehearse and perform on the same schedule as our professional company. We usually rehearse six hours a day weekdays and one weekend day for two or three weeks followed by daytime performances. Some adjustment can be made to our pro rehearsal schedule to adjust for school schedules if necessary. Instead of rehearsing mornings and afternoons, we may rehearse afternoons and evenings for instance. There is a larger concentrated daytime commitment for these productions so unless you are home-schooled you may need to look into alternate learning systems offered by your educational institution. Much depends upon your personal school situation. A link to the tentative rehearsal calendar has been provided further down on this page.

Audition Dates and Times

The Giver is the only Main Stage production to use students in the 08-09 season. We held auditions last April, casting is complete and the production has closed quite successfully. There are currently no other Main Stage production opportunities for students this year.
