The mission of the Lexington Children’s Theatre Education Department is to provide students of all ages with the means to actively explore the beauty, diversity, complexity and challenges of the world around them through the dramatic process. We strive for our students to develop their own unique creative voice, their imagination and their understanding of drama and its role in society.

We look forward to having your child(ren) grow as they experience new adventures and challenges in our classes!

ONCE UPON A TIME
(ages 4-6)
Mondays, March 12 – April 23
(no class April 2nd)
4:30 - 5:30 PM         
Tuition:  $95  
This is a wonderful class for young children with active imaginations and lots of creative energy. Students utilize theatrical elements to enact favorite and classic stories.

WACKY TALES
(ages 4-6)
Saturdays, March 17 – April 28th
(no class April 7th)
9:00 - 10:00 AM       
Tuition:  $95  
This class will take a modern tale and give it a twist. Create fun characters and mischief while constructing a slightly different version of a story.

ON WITH THE SHOW
(ages 6 – 8)
Saturdays, March 17 – April 28th
(no class April 7th)
9:00 - 10:15 AM         
Tuition:  $95  
Students take a story or tale they know and create a play complete with dialogue, costumes and scenery.  Come and bring your talents to life. 


ACTING FROM A SCRIPT  
(ages 8-12) 
Saturdays, March 17 – April 28th
(no class April 7th)
10:30 – 12:00 PM     
Tuition:  $95
Students learn how to approach a character by analyzing dialogue and the script.  Students will perform their scenes on the last day of class with costumes and suggested set pieces.

IMPROVISATION STATION
(ages 8-12)
Thursdays, March 15 – April 26
(no class April 5th)
5:00 - 6:30 PM
Tuition:  $95
Improvisation is a unique form of theatre where the performer is both actor and playwright. Students work to create and script their own comedy skits and performances.  This class will serve actors, writers, and future stand-up comedians.

GOTTA SING, GOTTA DANCE (Musical Theatre Revue)
(Ages 11-16)   
Saturdays, March 17 – April 28th
(no class April 7th)
10:30-12:00 PM                     
Tuition:  $95        
This class is for students who wish to develop their musical performance skills.  Focusing on dances, songs, and scenes, performed in musicals.

STAGE COMBAT
(ages 12-16)
Thursdays: March 15 – April 26th
(no class April 5th)
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Tuition:  $95         
Get ready for action!  You’ll learn all the right moves for scenes that call for convincing falls, slaps and fights.  Learn the non-violent and safe approach to creating lots of action on stage.  Get some physical training for combat and comedy in this action-packed class. 

SKETCH COMEDY
(ages 12-16)
Saturdays, March 17th – April 28th
(no class April 7th)
10:30 - 12:00 PM
Tuition $95
It's not what is said, but how it's said that makes it funny. Learn performance techniques specific to sketch comedy by performing classic routines from television and comedy groups.

Each six week class will have a short presentation at the end.  We invite your family and friends to join us for their presentations on the following days:
