Did you know that LCT plays a huge role in the school lives of Kentucky's children? Whether through school field trips, Theatre in Education performances from our Education Department, or in school residences in Elliott and Rowan Counties through our Shooting Stars Youtheatre program, LCT gives over 130,000 schoolchildren in the Commonwealth per year the means to actively explore the beauty, diversity, complexity and challenges of the world around them through the dramatic process.
- My class absolutely loves every minute of the 5-1 hour workshops. They learn vocabulary and experience things they would never get to experience. They are allowed to be creative and expressive in a positive, accepting,
no-risk environment. - Lynn Manner, Clearfield Elementary, Rowan County
- [LCT] brings a positive, dynamic style of teaching into the classrooms. They always engage the students and get across core content in a fun, exciting way. It is always so interesting to see what students step up and respond to the creative exercise and take risks where maybe they haven't before. - Sarah Ryder, Deep Springs Elementary, Fayette County
It is LCT's goal to reach every child in the Commonwealth, regardless of geographic or economic barrier. We are asking for your help in reaching that goal! Revenue generated from our programming only covers 60% of our costs – we depend on donations to our Annual Campaign to make up the gap. This year's goal is $36,000 – and we need your support! Your gift can do the following:
- Help bring LCT Performance workshops to schools around Kentucky.
- Fund scholarships for children to attend our Theatre School classes.
- Assist in bringing our Theatre in Education dramas like The Bully Show to schools around Kentucky.
With your help, LCT can bring the arts to students throughout Kentucky – regardless of their school's ability to pay. Your gift will make a real difference in the life of a Kentucky student through supporting our productions, education, and outreach.
Please make your donation today and help LCT continue the amazing work it does for children throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
