Heap It On

residency

Heap it On! is a play about a ten year-old boy named Heap. Due to Heap's wastefulness, he is visited by two rogue characters, Waste and Sammie. These evil doers are here to take over the world due to humans' misuse of the earth's natural resources. After naming Heap his king, Waste causes the water in his house to go bad and instigates a brown out. Heap must learn to change his behaviors about recycling and reducing trash before he can be rid of Waste and Sammie. After seeing the play, students will participate in workshop and discussion. Our goal is for students to learn the various ways to identify and reduce their waste output.

The Bully Show

picadome

The Bully Show! is an exciting new program from Lexington Children's Theatre! This week-long program utilizes drama to assist in the prevention and education of bullying in our schools and communities.

It is our goal that program participants will develop a greater empathy and understanding of the issues facing them. This program will provide teachers, students and parents insights and skills to alter attitudes and behaviors that affect our lives.

The Bully Show Curriculum

Lexington Children's Theatre and your school will create a week long emphasis on choosing non-bullying behaviors. Our program consists of four steps:

  • A parent meeting to assist parents in identifying the impact of bullying in their child's life.
  • Students will watch The Bully Show! and participate in a short feedback session following the performance.
  • Teachers utilize the Activity Packet by using two or three of the activities to create discussion and thought about bullying in students' lives.
  • LCT's Teaching Artists will return to lead a hour long workshop on bullying and strategies to alter one's behaviors to avoid or detect bullying.

Bring The Bully Show! and LCT's Anti-bullying curriculum to your school for $750.00 and help your students become better equipped to face the bullying in their lives.
