Gerda and Kai talk across the rooftops as the minions carry Jorelie's mirror toward everyone's destiny.

Kai and Gerda exchange Chrsitmas gifts oblivious to the mythological beings around them.

The Snow Queen looks in Jorelie's mirror.

Gerda cannot believe her grandmother gave Kai a sled, nor can Jorelie believe the Snow Queen will just stand back and watch.

Kai walks beside the river making his choice to return to Gerda or follow the path of The Snow Queen.

In Spring when the river thaws Gerda asks if Kai truly did fall in. She knows in her heart he is not dead.

"I'll give you my red shoes if you'll take me to Kai."

The river carries Gerda to the garden of The Woman Who Knows Magic.

The Woman Who Knows Magic pulls Gerda from the river into her flower garden.

Live sound effects accompanied The Woman Who Knows Magic and the binding spells she placed on Gerda.

The Guard prevents Gerda's entrance into the palace for fear that the midsummer dreams will come alive.

The Guard moves Gerda to a safe distance to watch as the princesses dreams appear on the shadow dreamscape.

The Guard tells Gerda of the young man who came to the palace who is about to marry the princess -- the one Gerda believes is Kai

Gerda story appears on the dreamscape as she explains to the guard why she must get into the palace.

The midsummer dreams come alive and threaten to steal Gerda's soul.

The Midsummer Princess reluctantly provides Gerda shoes and a coat for her journey to find Kai.

In her midsummer dream Gerda sees Jorelie and the minions present the mirror to The Snow Queen...

and witnesses the resulting consequences when broken.

During Gerda's dream she imagines that Kai refuses the sled as dowry for Gerda's hand in marriage.

Gerda dreams of Kai -- spekaing with The Snow Queen all the while working hard to establish the means to care for Gerda.

Ylva demands, "Men flickan hon själv är min!" <The girl is mine!>

Gudrun, the robber woman, threatens Ylva, her daughter, with death for daring to challenge her position of power.

The robbers camp settles in for the night.

Bjarga, the robbers captive reindeer, warns Gerda that there is no time to wallow in self-pity if she expects to live -- she must be useful!

Bjarga talks with Gerda while the robbers sleep ... despair settles in with the new fallen snow.

Bjarga carries Gerda away from the robbers.

Bjarga struggles to escape the enslaught of the wolves.

The wolves devour Bjarga as Gerda watches.

With Bjarga's death, Gerda does not know how to move forward ... and the snow is so warm... perhaps she could sleep ... for just a moment ...

Bjarga's spirit provides support to Gerda as she battles her way through The Snow Queen's final blizzard.

Gerda arrives in the ice palace of The Snow Queen and her snowflakes.

"I love you. I just wanted you to know."

Kai looks at Gerda and tentatively holds out his hand. Gerda looks at him asking silently, "Are you sure?" Kai nods. Gerda smiles, takes Kai's hand.

They turn and walk hand in hand toward their future.
