Things to Know Before You Go

About your trip to The Lexington Opera House
Our holiday production traditionally takes place at The Lexington Opera House located at 401 W. Short Street, right across from LCT. It is an absolutely beautiful space that we hope you enjoy!

Be sure to arrive early to find a place to park – options include metered parking surrounding the theatre and the parking garage on the corner of Broadway and Short Street. LCT unfortunately cannot validate garage parking.

The Lexington Opera House is made up of three levels, your ticket will indicate which level you are on and the wonderful Opera House staff will help you to your seat. Please note that the Opera House lobby can get very busy with lines for tickets and Will Call. When you enter the lobby, look up at the Box Office window to find out which line you should be in (PURCHASE TICKETS or WILL CALL) – entering the correct line should help the lobby traffic move faster!

It’s also a good idea to bring some cash. You might need to pay for parking, and we will have books and LCT merchandise for sale in the lobby if you want to buy something before or after the show. If you forget your cash, though, no worries! Both the box office and the retail store accept credit and debit cards.

About A Charlie Brown Christmas

The play is directly based on the classic T.V. special by the amazing Charles Schultz and features all of your favorite Peanuts characters! If you have any questions about the story, give the T.V. special a watch before attending LCT’s performance. The performance features some amazing accompaniment with a live jazz band onstage as well as pre-show music provided by LCT’s elite musical theatre ensemble Starlight Singers!

This play is a great way to spark conversations about what the holidays mean to you and your family. Our story centers on the one-and-only Charlie Brown who can’t seem to get into the holiday spirit, so he deals with some sad emotions as he tries to navigate what Christmas means to him. Charlie’s sadness turns into happiness as his friends help him realize what the holidays are all about. This is a great opportunity have a conversation about what the holidays mean to you and your family!

We love this story because…as Charlie Brown discovers the meaning of the holidays he realizes that more than big gifts and bright lights, the holidays are about love, kindness, compassion, and connection. As silly as Snoopy and all of the Peanuts are, they really care about each other! We encourage you to make that caring a part of your holiday celebrations and a part of your lives all year round!
