Live Virtual Workshops

Hop on a video call with one of our Teaching Artists to engage your students in a safe, virtual way! Our workshops are created to be short, one- or two-session events.

Audition Techniques (4th – 8th graders) – two sessions, 1.5 hours each
This class discuss what makes a successful audition, what directors are looking for, audition tips, and answer any questions you might have about the audition process. We will discuss the different types of auditions and what makes a good headshot and resume. Pricing: $150 per class (≤30 students)

Careers in the Theatre (4th  12th graders) – one 50-minute session
Have you ever wondered about a career in the theatre? Do you know there are on average 6 people who work backstage for every actor onstage? Join LCT’s staff as they share their job responsibilities and what makes them vital in the creation of a performance. Pricing: $75 per class (≤30 students)

Stage Make-up (4th – 12th graders) – one session, can be between 2-2.5 hours
Do you enjoy becoming someone else? Are you interesting in learning how to transform your face to become a fantastical character? Learn the techniques to turn your face into a artistic masterpiece. Pricing: $125 per class (≤30 students)

StoryBox (Pre-K 2nd graders)  one 50-minute session
StoryBox is an interactive story telling experience using drama and imaginative play for young people ages four to seven. Materials used in this 30-minute workshop will be left for the classroom so that young people may continue to explore the story further. Pricing: $75 per class (≤30 students)

Live Weekly Classes

LCT’s Weekly Classes connect you virtually with our professional Teaching Artists for weekly one-hour sessions that bring an in-depth look at the theatrical process, both on stage and behind the scenes. These classes are typically 1 hour long, meet via Zoom, and are designed to meet weekly for the class’s specified number of weeks.

Acting for the Camera (5th  8th graders) – 3 weeks
Performing onstage is very different than performing for the camera. In this class we will give students the fundamentals of being an on-screen performer and record a few commercials and monologues to assist them in honing the technique.  Pricing: $200 per class (≤30 students)

Create a Play (K  2nd graders) – 6 weeks
In this class, young people work to create their own play by using contemporary literature or a theme as their source material. The class will originate their own characters, dialogue, and story. At the end of the week, the class will have a play they can share online with their families. Pricing: $350 per class (≤30 students)

Devising a Play (6th  8th graders) – 9 weeks
Have you ever wanted to create a play from scratch? LCT’s Teaching Artists will guide you through a process of choosing a topic, brainstorming ideas and structures, and creating an original work. This class takes a motivated group of students who are passionate about a topic or idea they want to turn into a play. Pricing: $550 per class (≤30 students)

Digital Storytelling (6th  8th graders) – 6 weeks
Digital storytelling allows everyday people to share their story. In this class, you’ll learn from LCT Teaching Artists as they demonstrate how to use digital media (pictures, stop animation, and video) to craft your ideas to tell a story or present an idea. Pricing: $350 per class (≤30 students)

Foundations of Acting (3rd – 8th graders) – 9 weeks
This class is an overview of the skills and training need to understand and develop a student’s craft of acting. Each week will be filled with activities and exercises to develop the voice, imagination, and skills necessary to begin the process of learning to create meaningful characters as a young performer. Pricing: $550 per class (≤30 students)

Improvisation (5th  8th graders) – 6 weeks
This class will help young people develop their improvisation skills as they learn to think on their feet. We will work to define and demonstrate the five basic principles of ImprovisationGive and Take, Beginning/Middle/End, Spontaneity, Yes and, and Listening. Pricing: $350 per class (≤30 students)

Playwriting (5th  8th graders) – 9 weeks
This program will assist students in understanding story structure as they work to write their own ten-minute play. Each class will consist of a series of writing exercises and lessons to give your student a firm foundation is crafting a piece of theatre. Pricing: $550 per class (≤30 students)

Scene Study (4th – 8th graders) – 9 weeks
In Scene Study, the participants are given a partner and a cutting from a play. The class works to develop their character based on the playwright’s language and context provided by the script. The participants work to learn and perform the role to be shared in a show case setting. Pricing: $550 per class (≤30 students)

Technical Theatre Classes

There is so much that goes on behind the scenes of any play to make it happen! In these pre-recorded workshops, you’ll learn technical theatre concepts and skills from LCT’s very own Technical Directors. Each class comes with suggested projects you can make alongside watching the videos to aid in your students’ learning! Booking a pre-recorded class will give you access to your chosen class’s videos for the rest of the semester (through May 21).

Video pass pricing is based on the number of students streaming. When booking, you may select Classroom (1 – 30 students), Grade Level (30 – 130 students) or Entire School (130+ students). Pricing is flexible. For example, if you are purchasing passes for two grade levels and not the entire school, you can select two “Grade Level” passes, which will be more cost effective than the “Entire School” price.

Flats, Platforms, & Acting Cubes (9th  12th graders)  three 30-minute videos
Every drama program needs the know how to build and make these three basic scenery elements. Join LCT artists as they walk through the construction techniques to build these staples and give your theatre program a leg up on creating some stock pieces. COMING SOON – these videos will be available sometime in April, but you may pre-order them now and we’ll send you the links as soon as they are available! Pricing: $50 Classroom / $75 Grade Level / $150 Entire School

Introduction to Scenic Painting (6th  12th graders) – six 50-minute videos
LCT’s technicians are excited to share their talents with you! Good scenic painting skills are vital to creating a quality set. These artists will show you some basic skills to up your scenic game. Learn techniques like shadow and highlight, wood grain, brick walls, and so much more. COMING SOON – these videos will be available at the beginning of April, but you may pre-order them now and we’ll send you the links as soon as they are available! $150 Classroom / $300 Grade Level / $600 Entire School 

SketchUp for Set Design (9th  12th graders) – one 15-minute pre-recorded video & one 60-minute live virtual demonstration
Learn how to use SketchUp Free to develop digital models of a set design, making it easy for you to articulate and present your ideas to the rest of the creative team. Through this workshop, you will learn the basics of using SketchUp, including shortcuts and how tools function. Then, the teacher will walk you through drafting a 3D model in real time! Pricing: $75 per class (≤30 students)
