Frequently Asked Questions about School Matinee Performances
LCT is following CDC guidelines for masking, which are based on the level of COVID19 in our community. If Fayette County, Kentucky is...
- Low Level (Green) - masks are optional.
- Medium Level (Yellow) - masks are recommended while indoors and around others.
- High Level (Red) - masks are required at all times in our building (the only exception is infants ages 2 and under).
County data is provided by the CDC with updates every Thursday by 8:00pm Eastern Time. Please check Fayette County's case level the day before your visit so you are prepared to mask if we move to a High (Red) level. You can do so at the link below, which will take you to the CDC's website.
Patrons may choose to mask at any time. Patrons with symptoms or exposure to someone with COVID19 should wear a mask. We ask that patrons with a positive test not enter our building. If any of the above policies will affect your ability to attend a performance or class you have purchased, please reach out so we can work with you to find a solution! You can learn more about our current Cancellation and Rescheduling policies below.
Students and teachers will remain on their buses until an LCT staff member lets them know it is time to enter the theatre.
Teachers will be able to seat their students in the Main Stage as necessary, with LCT staff assistance. We ask that teachers seat students first, then exit with 2-3 people at a time to use restrooms as necessary.
Teacher packets, educational play guides, and payment receipts will be delivered electronically.
The Main Stage, all first-floor restrooms, and all high touch areas will be sanitized after every performance.
Most of our shows are performed on LCT's Main Stage which is conveniently located at 418 W. Short Street, Lexington, KY 40507. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr. will take place right across the street from LCT in The Lexington Opera House at 401 W Short Street.
Every 10th ticket that you reserve is free. For example, book 52 seats and 5 of those are free of charge, so you pay for 47 of the 52 seats. Every person who plans on attending the production must be included in the total number of seats ordered. We then only charge you for nine of every ten tickets you order. How you use your free tickets is up to you! Please note that individual tickets not ordered through the school (parents, for example) will be sold at the chaperone rate of ($10/$15 for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr. at the Lexington Opera House) rather than the school group rate and we cannot guarantee that they will be able to be seated with the school group.
Individual tickets to a school day show can be purchased at the chaperone rate ($10/$15 for Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr. at the Lexington Opera House). Individual tickets must be paid for at the time of ordering, and there are no refunds for individual tickets. At least one week's notice is required to be seated with a group already attending, please do not arrive at the theatre without having previously purchased your ticket.
Seats may always be added to an order, subject to availability. Up until 30 days before the date of your performance, you may cancel any number of seats, up to and including cancelling the entire booking. After the 30-day cancellation deadline, you may decrease up to 10 seats from your order until 7 days before the performance, at which point no additional seat reductions can be made. All changes to an order must be placed by the school, by the person who initially placed the order, and must be communicated to and approved by LCT prior to arrival for the show.
School matinee bookings may be cancelled up until 30 days before the performance date. After this deadline, you may only reduce up to 10 seats. For more information, read "What if I need to change my seat total?" above.
If your school day is cancelled, we will do our best to reschedule you to a different performance of the same show, or if that is not possible to another show later in our season. A refund will be issued if rescheduling is not possible after exhausting all avenues. If LCT has to cancel a show for any reason, you will receive a full refund as well.
Payment is due no later than the day your group attends the performance. You can mail a check to the theatre, please include the invoice number in the memo of the check. You are also welcome to hand a check to our box office staff when you arrive if that is easiest for you! Receipts will be emailed to the teacher who made the reservation within 1-3 days after the show.
