Get Ready For:
- Lots of imagination. Superhero stories, imagining history, as told by kids.
- Sibling love/family bonds – they'll always be there for each other.
- This story is full of big emotions – joy and sorrow, anger and triumph. If you don’t mind spoilers, read below for a more in-depth breakdown.
Spoilers Ahead!
- Leo’s parents saying he can’t go to the game show – raised voices
- We learn Leo is sick, he has Sickle Cell Anemia. Aunt Kid explains the science of it in a kid-friendly way.
- Lizzy gets into a sticky situation. Leo reacts and then yells at Lizzy because he’s upset, calling her “a baby.” Lizzy talks to her aunt later and her conclusion is that very kid thing of big emotions “Leo hates me. And, I hate him.”
- It’s implied but not stated outright that Leo is thinking of running away from home at his most upset, as he holds onto a suitcase. He never acts on this.
Sensory Moments:
- We will have more information about sound and lights after rehearsals wrap up the week after Labor Day. Check back after then for more information!
- Moments of raised voices/arguments throughout the show

All Mortimer wants is to find a date to the school dance... which is hard when you’re a zombie. He has a big heart, but when he tries to let it show, his intestines just fall out! What’s an undead guy to do? This sidesplitting yet touching musical is a spooky celebration of the weird in all of us.

Based on the story The Reluctant Dragon by Kenneth Grahame
Lexington Children’s Theatre is proud to present A Reluctant Dragon, a World Premiere by Jeremy Kisling. Adrien likes baseball and poetry and is picked on at school and when they try and work things out with their stuffed animals it always ends in violence. When Adrien’s mother witnesses the episode, she puts them to bed and challenges Adrien to think of another way. Adrien enters a dream world of a modern-day telling of Kenneth Graham’s The Reluctant Dragon story complete with baseball and video games. Diego is a peaceful dragon who wants to paint, read, and have tea. But the villagers’ stereotypes and preconceived notions about dragons cause them to hire Santiago the Warrior to rid themselves of the beast. Adrien must find a way to end the conflict and bring about a peaceful solution.

Commissioned for Lexington Children’s Theatre
At the moment of President Lincoln’s death, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton announced, “Now he belongs to the ages.” This play celebrates Lincoln’s life through his own words and those of people who knew him. While he was one of the most significant and profound individuals in American history, there is so much we do not know about the man himself. What drove him? What inspired him? What fed and supported his remarkable journey? Though we can never fully know the answers to those questions, we "keep" Mr. Lincoln by continuing to explore them.
