Let your imagination soar in this colorful musical filled with favorite Dr. Seuss characters like Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Whos down in Whoville, and of course, the Cat in the Hat. As their stories intertwine, Seussical weaves a tale of friendship, acceptance, and love for both ourselves and those around us.

Things to Know Before the Show

Get Ready For:

• Singing and Dancing
• Lots of Dr. Seuss references - how many easter eggs do you think you can spot?
• Horton and JoJo get treated unfairly because the way they think and act is different from the people around them. When things are at their worst, JoJo gets sent to a military school run by a pompous general, and Horton gets captured by hunters and sold to a circus.
• Horton gets put on trial for "talking to a speck of dust," and the creatures in the jungle call him mean names including "crazy," "criminally insane," and "biggest blame fool in the Jungle of Nool."

Sensory Moments:

• There are a few audience-interactivve moments in this show! There is a moment of direct audience interaction with the Cat in the Hat, and performers are in the aisles frequently. If you need to leave during the show for any reason, please be mindful of this and be extra aware of people around you as you exit through the aisles.
• During the song "It's Possible," bubbles come through and around the audience and beach balls are bounced around the audience as well (they have a light in them, but it doesn't flash).
• There is a moment when Gertrude shines a flashlight into and around the audience.
• During a scene that contains a storm, the Cat in the Hat has a water gun that he squirts around the stage and into the audience. The lights change briefly during this scene as well, but they do not flash or strobe.
• This show is a little longer than our usual performances at around 90 minutes long. If a little one gets restless, you are welcome to hang out with our staff in the lobby - we'll have the show playing on a monitor, so you'll still be able to watch what's going on.

Lizzy and Leo Martinez have a plan – they want to be the “smartest kids in the world!” Studious Leo is convinced that winning a local TV quiz show is the first step to a better life for their family. Maybe he and Lizzy can even take their hardworking mami and papi on vacation to Hawaii! But when their parents refuse to let Leo participate in the quiz show, Lizzy decides to grow up, step up, and complete the plan herself.

Things to Know Before the Show

Get Ready For:

• Lots of imagination. Superhero stories, imagining history, as told by kids. 
• Sibling love/family bonds – they'll always be there for each other. 
• This story is full of big emotions – joy and sorrow, anger and triumph. If you don’t mind spoilers, read below for a more in-depth breakdown. 

  Spoilers Ahead!

  Leo’s parents saying he can’t go to the game show – raised voices  We learn Leo is sick, he has Sickle Cell Anemia. Aunt Kid explains the science of it in a kid-friendly way.  Lizzy gets into a sticky situation. Leo reacts and then yells at Lizzy because he’s upset, calling her “a baby.” Lizzy talks to her aunt later and her conclusion is that very kid thing of big emotions “Leo hates me. And, I hate him.”  It’s implied but not stated outright that Leo is thinking of running away from home at his most upset, as he holds onto a suitcase. He never acts on this.

Things to Know Before the Show

What happens when you mash up baseball, video games, and the classic story "The Reluctant Dragon" by Kenneth Grahame? A colorful show that's perfect for the whole family! Join LCT for this world-premiere adaptation by our Producing Artistic Director Jeremy Kisling.

The story revolves around Adrien, who is having a hard time dealing with bullies at school. But in the dream world, Adrien is in control of the story! When a friendly dragon named Diego moves to the hillside outside the town, Adrien finds a true friend. Diego is not like other dragons - he loves poetry and painting and wants to be a good neighbor. But trouble arises when the villagers misunderstand and hire Santiago the Warrior to defeat the "evil" dragon. Adrien must join forces with Diego and Santiago to change the villagers' minds. What better way to do it than a baseball game that mashes up two worlds? Will they be able to convince the villagers that Diego is not a threat and make them see the true beauty of their new neighbor? Join LCT to find out!
